Ah...work.

* On Monday, Mai passed out. Earkier, she had complaining of being dizzy with a heavy menstrual cycle...losing way too much blood (and iron, of course).

She refused to let the paramedics take her to the hospital, opting to have her sister pick her up to take her home.

She should have listened to the paramedics...I want to strangle her for not taking care of herself. I've been going to work early to cover her shift for the rest of the week.

* When an employee told a student that she had to place her food order first at the grill, pay, then pick up the order when it was called, she went ballistic- stated that she didn't like the way things were done, didn't like that 'bitch' telling her what to do, and she would do what she damn well pleased. Stan - the boss- came out to try to call things down, but he was unsuccessful. Ended up calling for an officer (they are with the sheriff's office, assigned to the school district). Anyway - this guy shows up, and takes the psycho-bitch out into the student center...do you know that this crazy bitch started shouting at the cop...she was taller and bigger than he was, by the way. When the spit started to spray in the cop's face, we witnessed him slowly unlatching his pepper spray. I was almost jumping up and down with glee when he put the can up to spray the nut. She wasn't that crazy though, as she calmed down considerably and allowed herself to be handcuffed and taken away. Shit...I wanted her to get sprayed...lol

It's been ages since I've been on VR in any significant way so the first thing I did was come to my favorite journals. I'm happy/sad to see yours still doesn't disappoint! Happy that you have such an amazing way of relating these crazy stories and of course sad that you have to endure these crazy stories in the first place!

(This is a long entry about a cat, so...lol)

And speaking of cats...a little over a month ago, I was crossing the street with my load of laundry. I noticed a small bundle of black fur along the curb and sighed, thinking 'another dead kitty...' I loaded my laundry; something told me to go back and look at the body, so I did. I watched it for awhile, and noticed that it was breathing. I said 'hey kitty' and it slowly raised its head to look at me. My heart started racing, as I knew that the kitten would be slowly crushed soon, as it was in an area where a car would slowly pull up to park. I rushed back inside the laundrymat and asked the attendant if she had an empty box- she said no. So I ran across the street, up the flight of stairs to my apartment, where I grabbed a pet carrier and a towel. I made it to the kitty before a car pulled up, and took it back upstairs. It was really weak, so I left it in the carrier, in the bathroom, with some water and kibble...

After I finished my laundry, I made it home, and checked on the kitty. I put the litter box in the kitchen for my other kitties, to keep the sickly kitten separate from them. Upon inspecting the kitten, I noticed that it was very lethargic; one eye was closed, and it couldn't stand on all four legs - the back legs weren't working at all. Neither was the long tail. The top of its head and the ears were crusted with dead skin and flea dirt. When I gently laid it on its side, it began to pee, and the urine was bloody. I thought 'what the hell do I do now?'

I gently rinsed the kitten off in the sink, placed it back in the carrier with a fresh towel, and cleaned up the mess...

The next morning, it was still in the carrierl, and it didn't touch the food or water. (It was the weekend, so I had ample time to deal with the kitten)...Anyway, I got it to drink some water...a few hours later, it drank some more water, used the litterbox, and peed...the urine was a lot clearer! Later, it ate some wet food, used the litterbox, and went back to sleep...

About two days later, the kitten was eating and drinking normally, after the next scare it gave me...one morning, I went to check on it and noticed a lot of white stuff in the newer, larger kennel I set it up in, in the living room. I figured that the kitten vomitted all over the place, but then I realized that it was pus...a ton of it...yuck! The kitten was meowing a lot, like 'get me the fuck outta' here!' It quickly crawled out of the kennel, which was a good sign. I picked it up, and noticed a huge open wound under the right armpit; it was obvious that it was an infection that erupted through the skin. I rinsed the kitten off, dried it, and patched up the hole the best I could. I had no gauze, so I cut a strip of material from an old white towel, cut that in 1-inch squares, and used cut strips of packing tape tp keep the bandage in place. I applied an anti-bacterial ointment and changed the lil' patch everyday, then every two days...until the wound closed up and healed! Later, I gave it flea medication, and I gave my other cats a dose as well...

And now? The kitten is twice its size. I inspected it and am pretty sure it's a girl. She is stronger, and is using one of her back legs now, while she sort of hops on the other. The tail is still non-functioning, so it may need to be amputated. I don't think she was injured though - I think her legs and tail are messed up via a birth defect or an earler infection (She shows no pain when I handle her legs, but she feels nothing in her tail).

She fights me now when I bathe her -lol- and that nasty crust on her head and ears is gone. She still has skin issues and lost some fur, but it is now growing back in. Her closed eye is open and bright like the other one now, thanks to the eye ointment...she has beautiful green eyes. And, the kitten's personality is out...she is bossy, greedy and demanding. She always wants to curl up in my lap...Talks all of the time. Fearless too...until Dust Bunny decided to be mean and take a swipe at her. (I keep her in the kennel when I'm not at home, and she knows its her space).

I had originally planned on keeping her until she was well enough to be dropped off at the shelter, or the local ASPCA...yeah, right.

So...let me introduce you all to my new cat, Ravyn:

90 Days and Counting.

So - Big Momma is on probation, as she continues to fuck up. With the exception of her weight and health problems, most of the tasks she has to do is easy. She tried to get out of making coffee, but couldn't...lol. It's like - she was hired to do a job with specific tasks, yet she tries to do less and less, ie pass it on to others. If she wasn't so lazy, I'd be inclined to help her more. (When Mai switches over to the coffee station next week for the next 5 weeks, I'll help her if needed, as she is a team player). Anyway -trying to hide behind the coffeemakers - nodding off and/or eating- will not go over well with the bosses and fellow employees, ya' know? Taking 25+ minutes for 15 minute breaks, a lot of long restroom visits, and basically standing around during slow periods instead of keeping her coffee area stocked and clean doesn't help her in her defense. If Big Momma gets fired, she will have an especially difficult time finding another job. And she seems so nonchalant about everything. Wow.

On a personal note, she really pissed me off last week when we happen to be discussing pets; I had mentioned how I was still sadden over Whiskers death, and how I still had him kept in the freezer until I could get him cremated and receive his ashes. Big Momma asked me why I kept the body in the fridge, as I could've just buried him in 'the yard'; I told her that I had no yard as I live in an apartment...she then stated that I could've 'thrown him in the trash, as he was dead...'

True pet lovers DO NOT throw the remains of their beloved pets in the garbage, and I told Big Momma this. She was actually surprised that she had upsetted me, and apologized.

I think that it's sad that she didn't even think that what she said was offensive or wrong. I told her that she should never own a pet!

Now - if Carlo still wants to get me a harpoon for Christmas, Big Momma will be the target...

Oh no!

I'm so sorry about Whiskers. :(

Baby Goofy, or Emerson's brother as he referred to him as, recently passed away. I buried him, but it is always sad when one's pet dies. They're really a member of the family. Fur, scales, feathers, and all.

::hugs::

I need an Ark...

My apartment looks good, but I've had issues the past 3 months...sigh:

In late August, on a Sunday night, my bathroom is flooded via a hard-to-detect leak in the wall behind the toilet. You'd think that management would get to the problem righ away, right? WRONG. It took TEN FUCKING DAYS before they got a plumber over. Note that for those ten days, I was mopping up puddles of water everyday, and when at home, about every 2-3 hours...even during the night.

This did not make me a happy camper. The landlord had the nerve to question why I deducted money from September's rent, even though he received a letter from me explaining the situation...are you kidding me? (As I pro-rated the payment, deducting 10 days, he got a check for $582 instead of the $873). Of course, he never bothered to call me back beforehand, when I left several messages - each one more angry than the previous one. When we finally did talk, I told him off, and he kept apologizing. Cheap bastard.

And guess what? About a month later, while watching my Pride & Prejudice dvd for the hundreth time (I had no tv or internet for over 2 months) I hear water pouring down from somewhere in the bathroom...I ran to see water streaming from the light fixture in the ceiling! WTF? I grab a bucket then call the property manager (he lives next door). He comes over to tell me that the woman upstairs was filling a bucket...??? I didn't get it, but I was pissed. It wasn't fun mopping up nasty orange-colored water.

Lately, water is leaking from the back of the fridge...good grief. I can't swim.

I can't win.

Well - my hard drive is completely fried, and I hope that I'll be able to retrieve my pics, important records, and my never-ending novel. This totally sucks.

It's a good thing that I have this laptop, thanks to Trin! *hugs* I'll have to update everything soon though, as Windows XP will be obsolete next year.

Anyway, I have alot of stuff to write about here, and need to remember all of what's been going on with me. Some of the items are:

* Big Momma on probation...will she be gone in 90 days?

* Yeah...like I need another cat...

* An example of why most elderly people should not be allow to drive

* Me...in the back of a patrol car
